Become an assistant

What we’re looking for

Smart people with flexible schedules, who can manage their own time and work remotely. You could be a student, a stay-at-home parent, or a retired person, for example. General knowledge and useful contacts for services and service providers will make you more efficient (and thus the work more profitable for you). You will need reliable internet and phone access. And above all, since you’ll be dealing directly with service providers and clients, you need to be able to communicate in a friendly yet professional manner. You don’t need to be an extrovert, but you do need to be good with people.

What assistants actually do

All tasks are currently desk-based - you won’t be required to do any running around, but should be able to solve each task using your computer and/or phone. Most tasks will fit into the following broad categories: finding quotes/service providers; doing some quick research; or making an enquiry of some sort on a client’s behalf. All interaction with the client is via email.

Working hours

We aim to be able to respond quickly to clients between normal working hours (weekdays, 9am to 5pm), with the understanding that requests sent outside of these hours will be responded to on the morning of the next working day. That said, nothing stops you from taking on a task whenever it comes in if you happen to have free time at odd hours. We would need an estimate from you as to how much time per day/week you think you’ll have available, just so we can plan. The nature of the task may dictate when you can work on it: if you need to contact service providers, they’ll likely only be available during working hours, whereas research tasks are more flexible - the internet is open 24/7.

What you’ll get paid

Remuneration is per task completed, with payments to assistants made every two weeks.
